Introducing the Write Now Club

What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.

  1. [0–5 mins] Meet and greet
  2. [6–10 mins] Writing warm-up; stream of consciousness exercise using a random prompt
  3. [11–30 mins] Write about this week’s given topic from the list below
  4. [31–60 mins] Share and discuss
  5. [61–75 mins] Optional post-meeting hangout

The current plan is to meet once every other week at a time that works best for the group given the results of this when2meet survey. While we’re still in the pandemic, we’ll meet on Zoom.

My assumption is people will arrive at these meetings with their own agendas. Some people may want to use the time to journal while others may try to improve their fiction writing or work on their stand-up set. I welcome all motivations for writing to come together and share their works. Thanks for listening, and I hope to see you soon!
